Abstract
«We have too many means and only a few insubstantial ends» (Laudato si’, nr 203).The encyclical letter Laudato si’ connects the aberrations of individual behavior to the malfunctions of the development model. In fact a misinterpreted economic theory contributed to generate a certain lack of responsibility in individual choices. Also the ethical character of choices and the concept of common good can find a relevant role in economic theories. However the weakness of the aims is the problem. The development model based on mass consumption cannot be easily modified because a more measured and controlled use of the resources would decrease productivity and penalize the weakest. However a shift in values towards a social and environmental direction can help re-orienting consumption and production.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
