An increased overall survival rate has been observed in the past years in patients suffering from bone metastases of the limbs owing to improvements in oncological therapies. The treatment of bone metastases has been significantly modified by two factors: mechanical stability using acrylic cement and resection prostheses. The only objection to the use of this cement is the possibility of negatively influencing the consolidation of the pathological fracture. In the majority of patients the technique and type of surgery performed depend on the site and extent of metastasis as well as on the general conditions of the patient. Abstract
The authors report their experience and results.Pubblicazioni consigliate
