This chapter was an invited contribution to the Innovative Language Pedagogy Report which presents new and emerging approaches to language teaching, learning, and assessment in school, further education, and higher education settings. Researchers and practitioners were invited to provide research-informed, short articles on their chosen pedagogy, with examples and resources. This chapter provides a brief overview of online, intergroup dialogue as an innovative language pedagogy that can be used for foreign language teaching and learning and a method of communication that can be used to explore shared issues between groups from diverse backgrounds, dialogue that highlights the importance of people’s lived experiences. For language learners, this kind of dialogue is an opportunity to communicate about themselves and their local identities, interests, and values and learn about others’.
