In the paper, a review on numerical models and optimization techniques for the design of electrochemotherapy (ECT) applications is done. Different features of the ECT models are presented and discussed; in particular, the effect of tissue inhomogeneity on electric field distribution and ECT outcome is studied, because of its paramount importance.
