L’edizione delle lettere versificate dei soldati romeni tra filologia e folclore: appunti di metodo

This paper aims to present the case, in many ways surprising, of the versified letters of the Romanian peasant soldiers, built according to the metrics, style and structures of traditional oral poetry. From the beginning, in the Romanian context, the writings of ordinary people have become an object of exclusive interest for ethnographers and folklorists. This disciplinary option, which has cut out specific philological, literary or historical interests, has had several consequences, that the paper tries to point out.
