"Ho la Crusca in mano". Postille alfieriane alla quarta impressione del Vocabolario

This article presents a selection of Vittorio Alfieri’s handwritten marginal annotations to the fourth reprint of the Vocabolario degli Accademici della Crusca. The copy was part of the first library owned by the author and is currently held in Paris. Alfieri’s annotations (which he continued on another edition of the same work) are mainly linguistic and make it possible to analyse the development of his longstanding study of the Italian and his relationship with Crusca’s language regulations. In the appendix some autograph additions made by Alfieri to the dictionary are transcribed.
