Industrial X-ray computed tomography (CT) is an effective technique to perform quality control and dimensional metrology, enabling the measurement of internal geometries and not accessible features. However, CT measurement results are strongly influenced by operator decisions on scanning parameters and system set-up. A high quality manufacturer-independent proposal for operators’ education and training is therefore highly desirable. To answer these requirements, an innovative training system, based on a blended learning approach, is under development within the Erasmus+ KA2 project “European Training for Coordinate Metrology 4.0”. Addressing industrial users as main target group, the learning content is consistently structured according to a recommended workflow of activities to perform a CT measurement.
