This studyfocuses on the analysis of level threeleadership model proposed by Clawson, analyzing how leadership practicesinfluence the relationship between statistical process controland competitivemanufacturingperformance.Ordinary least squares multiple regressions were performed using data from the international High-Performance Manufacturing project, includinginternational plants in three industries. The findings show thatjust visible behavior leadership practicesnegatively moderate the relationship between statistical process controland competitive manufacturing performance, as it leads to create hostile work environment. Additionally, unconscious thought leadership practices seem to have a direct effectover CMP, promoting a favorable leaders’ exchange relationship with their subordinates.
