Teranetics has introduced third generation of 10GBaseT PHY products, 40-nm TN8000 family, which include quad-port TN8044 , dual-port TN8022, and single-port TN8020 devices. The TN8000 family dissipates less than 4 W per port at a full 100 m and as little as 2W per port in short-reach mode and support triple-rate Ethernet (100M/1G/10G) and MACSec capability, permitting secure local-area network (LAN) data transmission. The devices can handle equipment such as high-performance computing that demands 10-Gbit Ethernet densities, by supporting quad-port designs with high performance and low power. The reduced external component count enables further reductions in the cost of 10GBaseT ports. The TN8000 family also allows multiple PHYs to share reference clocks and power regulators, and integrates an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter that was built with external components on the printed-circuit board.
