Today the sustainability challenge has become a relevant issue also for the fashion industry. However, given that therequest for sustainability is relatively new in this industry, we lack empirical research andspecific frameworks that could provide guidance to companies in the journey toward sustainability. The aim of this paper is to deepen the main strategic approaches to sustainability and the implemented practices that ten leading Italian fashion companies have been adopting. To accomplish this goal, we focus on the adoption of both green and social practices, considering all the stages within a supply chain, from suppliers till end customers.
