The Storia di Dalmazia by Giuseppe Praga is the only historical synthesis about Dalmatia that has been written in Italian. Rather than a plausible historiographical reference, it is a testimony of Dalmatian Italian historiography and culture in the first half of the twentieth century. The article illustrates their genesis, structure, and meaning today.
