Thelargespreadamongtheefficiencies ofdeviceswiththesame structure reportedbydifferentgroupsissignificantly causedbydifferentproceduresandequipment used duringtesting.Thepresentedarticleaddressesthisissuebyofferinganewmethodofdevice testing using “suitcase sample” approach combinedwithoutdoortestingthatlimitsthediversityofthe equipment,andastrictmeasurementprotocol.Aroundrobinoutdoorcharacterizationofroll-to-roll coated OPVcellsandmodulesconductedamong46laboratoriesworldwideispresented,wherethe samples andthetestingequipmentwereintegratedinacompactsuitcasethatservedbothasasample transportation toolandasaholderandtestequipmentduringtesting.Inaddition,aninternetbased coordination wasusedviaplasticphotovoltaics.orgthatallowedfastandefficient communicationamong participants andprovidedacontrolledreportingformatfortheresultsthateasedtheanalysisofthe data. Thereporteddeviationsamongthelaboratorieswerelimitedto5%whencomparedtotheSi referencedeviceintegratedinthesuitcaseandwereupto8%whencalculatedusingthelocalirradiance data. Therefore,thismethodoffersafast,cheapandefficient toolforsamplesharingandtestingthat allowsconductingoutdoormeasurementsofOPVdevicesinareproduciblemanner.
