The paper addresses issues related to web 2.0 and social networks in relation to their potential for transformative learning. Through a series of interviews with young activists and socio-cultural workers the paper explores the way technologies are being “adopted” within the Italian society by educational agents and by youth sectors of the population and their impact upon general and specific expectations about where and how learning takes place.
