The purpose of this research is the study of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) and its application in the humanitarian field. The main question that differs in the application of VRP in humanitarian operations concerns the presence of Social Costs and their increase during the whole time window. These costs are defined as the sum of Logistics, linear function, and Deprivation Costs, modeled as exponential functions. The paper presents the idea of VRP Heuristic in humanitarian operations and suggests solutions that can be used in order to achieve a good final level of Social costs.

Abstract
The purpose of this research is the study of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) and its application in the humanitarian field. The main question that differs in the application of VRP in humanitarian operations concerns the presence of Social Costs and their increase during the whole time window. These costs are defined as the sum of Logistics, linear function, and Deprivation Costs, modeled as exponential functions. The paper presents the idea of VRP Heuristic in humanitarian operations and suggests solutions that can be used in order to achieve a good final level of Social costs.File in questo prodotto:
