Abstract
Applying the stratigraphic method to the buildings of an entire settlement has made it possible to reconstruct the development of inhabited areas beginning in the XIIth century. The towns of Riva, Arco, Calvola, Frapporta and Tenno, all bordering Lake Garda, were studied in this way. The residences of local aristocrats as well as towers and tower houses of the XIIth centuries together with other types of buildings composed settlements with denser populations. Analysis of masonry and typochronology techniques of window and door openings make it possible to delineate building cycles and different architectural models.File in questo prodotto:
