The aim of this work is to renew the hydrothermal model of the Euganean Geothermal System (EGS) using the knowledge developed in the last 30 years of study and according to the recent, structural-controlled, hydrothermal, conceptual models. The previous EGS conceptual model was based on an out-of-date structural setting and cannot work. The proposed conceptual model is constrained by 2D and 3D numerical simulations. It is the first numerical modelling developed for the EGS and allows to evaluate the effect of different parameters (e.g., permeability, thermal conductivity, basal heat flux, width of the fault damage zone) on the thermal fluid flow in the EGF area.
