We prove that the group of autoprojectivities of a simple algebraic group G over the algebraic closure of a finite field acts in a natural way on the building Delta(G) canonically associated to G and that for every autoprojectivity phi of G there exists a unique automorphism alpha of G acting on Delta(G) in the same way as phi.

Abstract
