A simple galactic-structure model is developed in which the galaxy is considered as a two-component-halo-disk structure. The model treats a galaxy as composed of two different axially deformed polytropic structures, homocentrical and coaxial, with arbitrary values for the two masses, radii of the undeformed objects, and polytropic indices. The flattening of the spheroids is assumed to be caused by rigid body rotation and tidal interaction, and the treatment follows closely the method used for such structures by Chandrasekhar and Lebovitz (1962).

Abstract
A simple galactic-structure model is developed in which the galaxy is considered as a two-component-halo-disk structure. The model treats a galaxy as composed of two different axially deformed polytropic structures, homocentrical and coaxial, with arbitrary values for the two masses, radii of the undeformed objects, and polytropic indices. The flattening of the spheroids is assumed to be caused by rigid body rotation and tidal interaction, and the treatment follows closely the method used for such structures by Chandrasekhar and Lebovitz (1962).File in questo prodotto:
