Three silvicultural experimental plots located in the "Parco Naturale Alta Val Pesio e Tanaro" (Piedmont-Italy) are presented. The three plots have been chosen in the mosto representative high Pesio valley forest types: chestnut, beech and silver fir forest stands and are the first part of a network of plots that have to serve as a reference point for the present and future forest management.
