Abstract
The urban areas which link the historical center of Padua with the city’s suburbs, in particular, contain some unresolved neighborhoods on the border with the old urban fabric that have resulted from the construction of a system of roads at the end of the 19th century to create a direct connection between the center and the surrounding territory, thereby disrupting related architectural features such as the city walls. The circle of walls marked a neat separation between urban fabric and the outskirts until the 1930s after which followed a continuous building process in the areas around the breaches in the sixteenth-century city wall that lacked any specific planning. The disharmonious and un-connected area surrounding the breach of “Savonarola Gate” in the city walls of Padua is pre-sented as a case study.Pubblicazioni consigliate
