The fruits of Vaccinium myrtillus and Aronia melanocarpa are utilized in pharmaceutical and food preparations as rich sources of anthocyanoside pigments. However, these two drugs should not be considered equivalent because their chemical profiles are different. In this work, we report a case of substitution of V. myrtillus for A. melanocarpa in a commercial batch. The comparative morphological investigation of the two drugs is described.

Abstract
The fruits of Vaccinium myrtillus and Aronia melanocarpa are utilized in pharmaceutical and food preparations as rich sources of anthocyanoside pigments. However, these two drugs should not be considered equivalent because their chemical profiles are different. In this work, we report a case of substitution of V. myrtillus for A. melanocarpa in a commercial batch. The comparative morphological investigation of the two drugs is described.File in questo prodotto:
