The effects of gamma-ray irradiation on the passive film of 446 stainless steel have been investigated and the results compared with those obtained by means of galvanostatic reduction. The results of atomic absorption spectroscopic analysis of the irradiated solutions and XPS investigation of the passive film indicates that only iron was released from the oxide layer leaving a film enriched in chromium especially at the solution/oxide interface. © 1992.

Abstract
The effects of gamma-ray irradiation on the passive film of 446 stainless steel have been investigated and the results compared with those obtained by means of galvanostatic reduction. The results of atomic absorption spectroscopic analysis of the irradiated solutions and XPS investigation of the passive film indicates that only iron was released from the oxide layer leaving a film enriched in chromium especially at the solution/oxide interface. © 1992.File in questo prodotto:
