The Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) and My- coplasma hyopneumoniae are considered two of the most important pathogens associated to respiratory syndrome in the swine industry. The PRRSV infection’s dynamic has been studied on 15 gilts, both through serology (ELISA) and virology (RT-PCR), in a swine reproduction farm for 18 months. The same serum samples have been used to compare the dinamic of antibodies against M. hyopneumoniae through two commercial ELISA kits, indirect and competitive, to evaluate their use for diagnosis purposes especially in case of vaccination. The results concerning PRRS have shown that all the subjects have been infected during the acclimatization and that a reinfection occurred after almost one 373 year with an heterologous strain introduced later in the farm. The comparison of the two ELISA kits for the detection of antibodies against M. hyopneumoniae has shown a moderate correlation between the two kits, with a reactivity level strongly lower in the indirect reaction, and a dynamic not correlated to vaccination.

Abstract
The comparison of the two ELISA kits for the detection of antibodies against M. hyopneumoniae has shown a moderate correlation between the two kits, with a reactivity level strongly lower in the indirect reaction, and a dynamic not correlated to vaccination.Pubblicazioni consigliate
