A new FD method code for the design of rectangular (ferromagnetic and non-) billets induction heating lines has been developed. It gives the solution of coupled electromagnetic and thermal problems using adaptive meshing and variable time step length in order to cope with the strong non-linear variations of material characteristics. Some significant examples of application will be presented.
