In EMS-Maglev transport systems, the on-board electric loads are supplied at the cruising speed by a linear generator. The generator effectiveness in the acceleration/ deceleration phases and in the low-speed running is important to define the size of the on-board accumulators, used when the generator power is not enough. The paper analyzes the generator behaviour also in these conditions and, with reference to a suitable objective function, the geometric parameters of two winding arrangements for the generator are optimized. The resulting configurations are compared.

Abstract
In EMS-Maglev transport systems, the on-board electric loads are supplied at the cruising speed by a linear generator. The generator effectiveness in the acceleration/ deceleration phases and in the low-speed running is important to define the size of the on-board accumulators, used when the generator power is not enough. The paper analyzes the generator behaviour also in these conditions and, with reference to a suitable objective function, the geometric parameters of two winding arrangements for the generator are optimized. The resulting configurations are compared.File in questo prodotto:
