A quick procedure for the characterization of shock absorbers is presented in this work. It is based on some experimental tests, performed on a constant velocity excitation machine specially designed and constructed. The force and displacement data, acquired during the tests, are at once processed with suitable software, in order to obtain the damping force in the displacement-velocity domain. As application of the setting up procedure, two examples are also presented.

Abstract
