The paper report on the observation of the time resolved EPR of an excited quintet state in liquid solution. This high spin organic system is obtained by coupling the spins of two nitroxide radicals with those of the triplet excited fullerene moiety of a methanofullerene. The EPR spectrum is characterised by fully resolved hyperfine structure. To the best of our knowledge this is the first observation of a resolved hyperfine structure of a molecular excited quintet state in liquid solution.
