The authors present a case report of 52 adolescent, 24 males and 28 females, aged from 12 to 17, who were diagnosed with atypical depression according to DSM IV. Data about sex, age groups, symptoms, parental couple and other psychosocial characteristics are collected and different variables matched. Interesting results comes out, particularly a different distribution of associated symptoms and of past symptomatology between males and females end between different group ages. Data promotes some reflections upon this new chapter of psychiatry of child and adolescent: atypical depression.
