The paper presents a methodology for the analysis of a transverse flux permanent magnet motor which can be conveniently adopted as in-wheel motor. The methodology is based on the definition of a non-linear mathematical model in which the parameters are obtained as functions of the rotor position and of the winding currents by means of magnetostatic 3D FEM analyses. The mathematical model is applied to the solution of motor dynamic equations; the performances under different supply strategies and for different speed values are also analysed.

Abstract
The paper presents a methodology for the analysis of a transverse flux permanent magnet motor which can be conveniently adopted as in-wheel motor. The methodology is based on the definition of a non-linear mathematical model in which the parameters are obtained as functions of the rotor position and of the winding currents by means of magnetostatic 3D FEM analyses. The mathematical model is applied to the solution of motor dynamic equations; the performances under different supply strategies and for different speed values are also analysed.File in questo prodotto:
