The viscous flow sintering of glass is an essential way for glass recycling since it leads to glass-based materials at low temperatures (700-1000°C), without re-melting. In particular, the research focuses on sinter-crystallisation, i.e. sintering with simultaneous crystallisation. This process, due to a surface mechanism of crystallisation (significant for fine powders, with high specific surface), provides ceramics for the building industry by a faster and cheaper processing than common glass-ceramic manufacturing.

Abstract
The viscous flow sintering of glass is an essential way for glass recycling since it leads to glass-based materials at low temperatures (700-1000°C), without re-melting. In particular, the research focuses on sinter-crystallisation, i.e. sintering with simultaneous crystallisation. This process, due to a surface mechanism of crystallisation (significant for fine powders, with high specific surface), provides ceramics for the building industry by a faster and cheaper processing than common glass-ceramic manufacturing.File in questo prodotto:
