This case study focuses on Carlo Gavazzi Space (CGS), a very successful Italian company that develops, produces and commercialises space systems and applications on an international level. More specifically, it produces small scientific satellites (used especially for research in the field of cosmic physics), commercial satellites (for telecommunications and Earth observation), and military satellites. The case study analyses the successful strategy adopted by CGS in order to enter the small satellites segment. Attention is focused on the internal resources but we will find that CGS used external resources to extend and complement their internal ones in order to change its strategic direction.

Abstract
This case study focuses on Carlo Gavazzi Space (CGS), a very successful Italian company that develops, produces and commercialises space systems and applications on an international level. More specifically, it produces small scientific satellites (used especially for research in the field of cosmic physics), commercial satellites (for telecommunications and Earth observation), and military satellites. The case study analyses the successful strategy adopted by CGS in order to enter the small satellites segment. Attention is focused on the internal resources but we will find that CGS used external resources to extend and complement their internal ones in order to change its strategic direction.Pubblicazioni consigliate
