Two species of macroalgae have been recorded in the Lagoon of Venice, where their last occurrence is dated back to the 1940s and to the nineteenth century. They are two Rhodophyta, Boergeseniella fruticolosa (found in seagrass beds of Cymodocea nodosa near Malamocco inlet) and Anotrichium tenue (adhered to shells in Northern Basin). A brief description for each species is provided.
