Phytoextraction is a technique exploiting the ability of specific hyperaccumulative plants to extract heavy metals from the soil, concentrating these compounds in the epigeal parts. The aim of the study was to assess the applicability of phytoextraction techniques on sediments present in the Venice lagoon contaminated by IPA and heavy metals, particularly Cu (115 mg/KgSS), Pb (119 mg/KgSS) and Zn (570 mg/KgSS). The major difficulties encountered with the above sediments were caused by the combination of pollutant metals and the high concentration of Na.

Abstract
Phytoextraction is a technique exploiting the ability of specific hyperaccumulative plants to extract heavy metals from the soil, concentrating these compounds in the epigeal parts. The aim of the study was to assess the applicability of phytoextraction techniques on sediments present in the Venice lagoon contaminated by IPA and heavy metals, particularly Cu (115 mg/KgSS), Pb (119 mg/KgSS) and Zn (570 mg/KgSS). The major difficulties encountered with the above sediments were caused by the combination of pollutant metals and the high concentration of Na.File in questo prodotto:
