In this paper we study particular amalgams that arise in the course of "pushing up point stabilizers". The initial point of this investigation is the "Point-Stabilizer Theorem" in [U.Meierfrankenfeld, B.Stellmacher, "Application of the FF-module Theorem and related results", J.Algebra, 351(1)(2012), pp. 64-106] which gives the module-theoretic information that arise in this situation. Under certain additional hypotheses, we determine those amalgams which involve Sp(2n)(q) or G(2)(q) as factors. This paper is part of the Meierfrankenfeld-Stellmacher-Stroth program to determine the finite K_p-groups of local characteristic p.
