In the spring-summer of 2003, during a study concerning the submerged aquatic vegetation of five fishponds in the Lagoon of Venice, 41 species have been recorded (37 seaweeds and 4 seagrasses) and a map of coverage of the main species has been realized. The submerged vegetation is simplified and characterized by the presence of few species that clearly prevail on the others, both for specific coverage and biomass. Considering the Quantitative Dominance, the Chlorophyceae Chaetomorpha linum, Cladophora spp. and Valonia aegagrophila and the seagrasses Cymodocea nodosa and Ruppia maritima are the main species that colonize the fishponds.

Abstract
In the spring-summer of 2003, during a study concerning the submerged aquatic vegetation of five fishponds in the Lagoon of Venice, 41 species have been recorded (37 seaweeds and 4 seagrasses) and a map of coverage of the main species has been realized. The submerged vegetation is simplified and characterized by the presence of few species that clearly prevail on the others, both for specific coverage and biomass. Considering the Quantitative Dominance, the Chlorophyceae Chaetomorpha linum, Cladophora spp. and Valonia aegagrophila and the seagrasses Cymodocea nodosa and Ruppia maritima are the main species that colonize the fishponds.File in questo prodotto:
