The temperature dependence of the growth of cadmium selenide (CdSe) films prepared by galvanostatic electrodeposition in an aqueous acidic bath was examined. We observed a growth mode change at around 50 degrees C, below which the growth rate is reaction rate limited and above which it is transport limited. Growth below 50 degrees C deviates from conventional laws of electrolysis and results in Se-rich "cauliflower" films. At increased temperatures, the films show irregular growth but improved stoichiometry.

Abstract
The temperature dependence of the growth of cadmium selenide (CdSe) films prepared by galvanostatic electrodeposition in an aqueous acidic bath was examined. We observed a growth mode change at around 50 degrees C, below which the growth rate is reaction rate limited and above which it is transport limited. Growth below 50 degrees C deviates from conventional laws of electrolysis and results in Se-rich "cauliflower" films. At increased temperatures, the films show irregular growth but improved stoichiometry.File in questo prodotto:
