This paper presents the results from an empirical examination of an articulated theory of quality management underlying the Deming Management Method. Replicating an earlier empirical investigation, the present study applies path analysis to a secondary, plant-level, field data provided by a stratified sample of plants operating in four different industries in Italy. The reported results are also compared with those of an earlier empirical investigation.

Abstract
