We explore the distribution and the effects on the star formation of the gas and dust present in NGC 3934. The galaxy, member of the small NGC 3933 group, is very rich in molecular gas ~10^10 MSun and possesses also a heavy and chaotic shell system. The group has 6 bright members: a core composed of 5 galaxies, with Hickson's compact group characteristics, and a more distant member, PGC 37112. NGC 3934 is a quite rare example of shell galaxy in a likely dense galaxy region. We discuss, by means of our GALEX images, the star formation history of the whole group. Using multi-band photometric data, we characterize the group dynamical properties and its evolutionary phase. The comparison between Smooth Particle Hydrodynamical (SPH) simulations with multi-band integrated photometry, suggests that NGC 3934 is a product of a major merger
