A novel direct control scheme is proposed for induction motor drives fed by inverters commanded at a constant switching frequency. The scheme is based on a deadbeat approach and utilizes different control actions. It calculates each switching time the stator voltage needs to track the references of stator flux amplitude and motor torque and applies the voltage to the motor by means of the space vector modulation (SVM) technique. Different from the existing solutions, the scheme proposed here guarantees both excellent performance from the drives and real-time calculation of the stator voltage demand. In the paper, the novel scheme is described and designed, and simulation results are reported to demonstrate its effectiveness

Abstract
A novel direct control scheme is proposed for induction motor drives fed by inverters commanded at a constant switching frequency. The scheme is based on a deadbeat approach and utilizes different control actions. It calculates each switching time the stator voltage needs to track the references of stator flux amplitude and motor torque and applies the voltage to the motor by means of the space vector modulation (SVM) technique. Different from the existing solutions, the scheme proposed here guarantees both excellent performance from the drives and real-time calculation of the stator voltage demand. In the paper, the novel scheme is described and designed, and simulation results are reported to demonstrate its effectivenessPubblicazioni consigliate
