The problem of the outdoor pollution in large urban areas is one of the biggest dare to keep safe the environment and mainly the human’s healthy; relevant solutions to this could be photocatalytic products. The characteristics of those products, come from the capacity to use the light energy (solar energy or artificial energy) to active chemical reactions that achieve to the destruction of composite pollutants absorbed on the surface, allowing to take away the polluted substances in the air, skipping the increscent amount of organic composites that cause a progressive deterioration of the buildings. The work here reported is carried out within the Research Project “Nanotechnologies for building industry : new photocatalytic materials based on titanium oxide modified with metal-systems. Application to cement and glasses: technological tests and field of usage of innovative proposed building products ”.The aim of the project is to collect and interpenetrate competences of research groups operating in Padua University in quite different fields towards the goal to prepare new materials for building construction of wide application.
