Abstract

Sulphide-coated grains from the Proterozoic Siyeh Formation and from the Ordovician Winnipeg Formation of Western Canada contain 9.17 to 26.10 µM/g amino acids. The abundance of amino acids in these grains is further evidence of bacterially-mediated early diagenetic precipitationof the sulphide cortices.
