The present paper focuses on Rossi’s activity during the Italian years, first at Florence Institute of Physics and then at Padua Institute of Physics. His work during this period gave relevant results in cosmic-ray researches, but it also brought great improvements as for the didactics and the organization of science in Italy, yielding fruits which were to be fundamental for the “renaissance” of Italian physics in the second post-war period.
