In this paper we will present the “Earth and the Universe” part of the italian project F211 (Physics for the 21th century) coordinated by prof. Paolo Guidoni. The project is devoted to design a Model- Pathway for teaching physics from 5 to 18 years old students and to realize support materials for in service and preservice teachers' preparation. The main characteristics of the project are the longitudinal continuity in teaching Physics across school levels and the trasversal coordination between Physics and other disciplines, like Mathematics, Technology and other Sciences. In this paper we will present an innovative way of teaching about Earth and the Universe in compulsory school, based on a phenomenological approach and on the development of transversal and intertwisted pathways of Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics and Earth Sciences.
