A review of the seminar “Corpora: Seminar and Workshops” which took place at the University of Padua Language Centre from 29 to 31 March 2007. The event was a celebration of the contribution to Corpus Linguistics and scientific thought by John Sinclair. Participants, many from international universities and with a wide range of research interests linked to language corpora, presented papers which discussed corpora at work from theoretical and practical perspectives, providing an overview of the state of corpus-based research and teaching in Italy - from corpus design, data-collection and retrieval to the use of corpora in the classroom and for research purposes.
