The paper deals with an analytical method that allows to compute the system state matrix A and the input matrix B and consequently to achieve the time domain linearised response (under step input vector u) by applying a matrix exponential technique in order to investigate the dynamic behaviour of Dispersed Generator (DG) in a MV distribution system, and the role played by the different load dynamics. The use of matrix exponential applied to power system appears to be attractive for software implementation on mathematical commercial packages, because of both its electrical evidence and its analytical conciseness.

Abstract

The paper deals with an analytical method that allows to compute the system state matrix A and the input matrix B and consequently to achieve the time domain linearised response (under step input vector u) by applying a matrix exponential technique in order to investigate the dynamic behaviour of Dispersed Generator (DG) in a MV distribution system, and the role played by the different load dynamics. The use of matrix exponential applied to power system appears to be attractive for software implementation on mathematical commercial packages, because of both its electrical evidence and its analytical conciseness.
