The distinct advantages offered by such an application over analog circuitry or a conventional microcomputer are illustrated. Description of how the PWM inverter control can be implemented on a signal processor is given. A single-phase PWM inverter controller is developed as an example and its hardware and software structures are presented. A complete set of experimental results is also included
