This book is devoted to a methodical examination of a coherent collection of chlorite-schist artifacts from the early Bronze age of southeastern Iran. These artifacts hail from the Halil Rud or Jiroft civilization discovered about 20 years ago, showcasing the remarkable skills of its craftspeople. This study will aid in untangling the complex visual narratives that craftsmen from 4500 years ago have bestowed upon our scholarly inquisitiveness. This curiosity has crossed millennia, extending not only to us but also to the Mesopotamian elites, who, for a long period, consecrated many of these valuable, exotic crafted creations to their temples.
