Spasti prošloe: chronokorrekcija v russkoj literature

In Russian literature of recent years, alternative history time-travel has gained particular popularity. This hybrid of sci-fi and alternative history in Russia is known as khronokorrekcija or popadanchestvo. The typical plot of this genre represents the protagonist's journey into the past in order to correct history, i.e. to create a utopian world in the Past, where history would develop according to the protagonist's ideas about its correctness. The monograph offers a holistic description of the phenomenon of Russian alternative history time-travel in a diachronic perspective: from the first examples of the genre that appeared in the early twentieth century through Soviet fiction of the 1960s-1980s to contemporary novels dedicated to the correction of Russian history.
