This second updating volume enriches the repertory with 1.192 entries on as many authors. Of these, 682 are new, while the remaining 510 have been updated on the basis of recent scholarship, which has brought important new evidence to their bio-bibliographic profiles. All in all, 1.082 among specialized studies and bio-bibliographic catalogues were consulted and examined either partially or in their entirety (see list in the volume). The main biographical data (date of birth, death or period of activity, chief positions and where those positions were held, membership in a religious or if any) have been entered. Literary genres practiced have been catalogued and all forms of the author’s name as found in editions, manuscript catalogues, and general and specialised bibliographies have been accounted for. However, most importantly, a critical examination of issues relating to author identification and attribution of works – an investigation that constitutes the nucleus, as well as the most important character, of the research – has been carried out. The project involves updating volumes including new acquisitions and updates on previous authors will be published.

Abstract
The project involves updating volumes including new acquisitions and updates on previous authors will be published.Pubblicazioni consigliate
