The program of the proposed minisymposium is related to the final results of UPTUN Project, where one of the proponents was appointed deputy scientific manager. UPTUN Project, entitled"Upgrading of existing tunnels" (http://www.uptun.net) was developed within the VI European Programme "Competitive and Sustainable Growth", with main purpose of producing engineering results and recommendations for upgrading and safer behaviour of existing tunnels, against fire hazard. It was the largest project financed by EC for this reason. A selected list of authors will be invited to present original results relevant for Computational Mechanics purposes, in connection with the Project Work Packages, i.e.: WP1 – Prevention, detection and monitoring, WP2 – Fire development and mitigation measures, (WP3 – Human response), WP4 – Fire effects & tunnel performance: system structural response, WP5 – Evaluation of safety levels and upgrading of existing tunnels, WP6 – Full scale experimental proof. Demonstration, (WP7 – Promotion, dissemination, education/training). Particular attention will be devoted to WP4 dealing with structural response, were the following Tasks were developed: Task 1 - Structural concrete components, Task 2 - Functional elements, Task 3 - Damage / Repair and Recovery, Task 4 - Structural (Material / Design) and Innovation, Task 5 - Safety criteria and Recommendation.

Abstract
Particular attention will be devoted to WP4 dealing with structural response, were the following Tasks were developed: Task 1 - Structural concrete components, Task 2 - Functional elements, Task 3 - Damage / Repair and Recovery, Task 4 - Structural (Material / Design) and Innovation, Task 5 - Safety criteria and Recommendation.Pubblicazioni consigliate
